Chardonnay de Pennautier

Pennautier_Chardonnay_back.jpgWinery: Lorgeril
Region:
Languedoc, Le Sud (Southern France)
Locale:
Pennautier, France
Appellation:  Vin de Pays d'Oc
Designation: IGP

Site: The vines are located in the North so as to benefit from the shade during hot summers. In this way the fruit retains a suitable acidity and an exceptional quality. The soils are calcareous clay.

Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

Fermentation and Aging: The grapes are harvested in the early hours of the morning to preserve freshness; they are immediately pressed and separated from the skins. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for around three weeks.

Notes: Bright golden color. A powerful nose with aromas of grapefruit, pineapple and lemon zest, with a hint of fresh hazelnuts. Very fresh and well-balanced in the mouth. A wine to appreciate in its youth. Delicious as an aperitif, or with light snacks and hors d’oeuvres.
