Locale: Montacuto, Italy
Appellation: Rosso Conero
Site: Grown organically in the winery’s estate vineyards.
Grapes: 100% Montepulciano
Fermentation and Aging: Aged for 12 months in Slavonian botti, or large barrels.
Notes: Dark, brooding, and structured, Moroder Rosso Conero sets the standard for the appellation. Although in most vintages the wine is entirely drinkable on release, and indeed pairs with mountain fare like wild boar and venison, Moroder Rosso Conero is ageworthy over several years, and believe it or not, pairs wonderfully with local seafood, especially snails and crustaceans.
