Appellation: Chiaretto di Bardolino
Designation: DOC

In a few words: An elegant symphony of aromas which translates beautifully to the palate.

Site: From the municipality of Sommacampagna located south east of Lake Garda. The hills are located at 100-150 meters above sea level, of morainic origin with calcareous, clayey, gravelly, sandy soil.

Grapes: Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. Vines are guyot trained and harvested from September to the first ten days of October.

Fermentation and Aging: After harvest, the grapes are pressed off their skins immediately. The skins are then introduced for a 24-hour cold soak with just the free-run juice, to allow a very gently colored rosé to develop. Then, the must is racked off the skins and joins the press-juice for a long, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel.

Notes: A lovely, translucent, pale pink color. Elegant on the nose, with floral, fruity, and herbaceous aromas: white flowers, berries, red currant, nectarine, apricot, lychee, melon, and a gently touch of white pepper. Dry with medium acidity on the palate. Gentle tannins and a long finish influenced by the symphony of aromas. Excellent for a summer aperitif with friends. Goes well with pizza, Italian appetizers such as ham and melon or caprese, cold cuts, pasta, Asian and French cuisine, white meat and fish, barbecue and vegetarian cuisine.
