Soave "Monte Zoppega"

Monte-Zoppega_Back_small.jpgWinery: Nardello
Region:
Veneto
Locale:
Monteforte d'Alpone
Appellation: Soave Classico
Designation: DOC

In a few words: Pretty irresistable.

Site: Old vineyard with volcanic soil; guyot and pergola veronese

Grapes: 100% Garganega - harvested late October.

Fermentation and Aging: Soft pressing of the grapes, cold static decanting and beginning of alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks. In the middle of fermentation the wine is transferred in barriques, and the process continues in the wood. Malolactic fermentation in barriques takes place when necessary, then aging in wood for 6-7 months according to the features of that specific vintage.

Notes: Powerful aromatics. Beautiful core of sweet ripe fruit; fresh acidity. Provides good structure in the mouth, and a mineral sensation suggestive of volcanic, basaltic, black rock.
