Oberto-Nebbiolo-back.jpgWinery: Andrea Oberto
Region:
Piemonte (Piedmont)
Locale:
La Morra (Barolo) Italy
Appellation: Dolcetto d'Alba
Designation: DOC

In a few words: Rich, warm, and robust with a lively finish.

Site: Approx. 3200 vines planted on 0.8 hectares in La Morra. Soils: calcareous marl. Southeast exposure, 350 meters above sea level. Vines are 15-25 years old, guyot trained. Mid-September harvest.

Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo

Fermentation and Aging: The fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature of around 28 °C, with delicate, frequent pumping of the must over the skins. After a medium-long maceration on the skins of around 200 hours, the new wine is transferred into stainless steel, where the spontaneous malolactic fermentation takes place. Aging: Langhe Nebbiolo is matured for 6 months, partly in oak; it is then refined in the bottle for 2 months.

Notes: Ruby-red color with delicate garnet reflections. Complex and fruity aroma with fine scents of violet. Rich, warm, robust mouth with long-lasting finish providing smooth tannic sensations. Annual production about 3500 bottles. From declassified Barolo vineyards, aged only in stainless steel. About 10,000 bottles.
