Le Colture

Colture-logo-nero.jpgSanto Stefano di Valdobbiadene is a small village set in the vine-chequered mosaic of the Prosecco hills. Le Colture has grown wines here since the 1500s, under the guidance of the Ruggeri family.

In 1983, Cesare Ruggeri launched its entry into the field of sparkling wines, and today it boasts an extraordinary heritage of expertise--know-how spread over a vast array of its own production secrets, both great and small; a deep understanding of its entire growing area and its vineyards; and an innate sensitivity to the health and well-being of each vineyard.

Le Colture sparkling wines are made solely with the glera grape, grown almost exclusively in the family vineyards lying in the Valdobbiadene DOCG and harvested only by hand. The winery uses only the Charmat Method to produce these sparkling wines, which utilises stainless-steel temperature-controlled pressure fermenters.

Le Colture vineyards are distributed among 16 farm properties in the Valdobbiadene and Conegliano areas and in that of Montello. This makes possible the creation of wines with ultra-distinctive personalities that reflect the specific characteristics innate in the soils and weather conditions of very uncommon terroirs.

For some years now, Cesare’s three children, Silvia, Alberto, and Veronica, have been intensely involved in winery activities, bringing to its operation a surge of enthusiasm and the invaluable innovative spirit characteristic of the young generations, without however forgetting love for their own land and respect for winemaking traditions.
