Site: Vigna Muti on which the grapes for VALCANZJRIA are grown is located in Val Canzeria at 400 meters above sea level in the commune of Chiaramonte Gulfi (Ragusa) in southeastern Sicily. Canzeria is the original Arab name meaning "place of the wild boars." The temperate Mediterranean climate is distinguished by wide-ranging temperatures. The soil is calcareous and moderately clayish.

Grapes: Chardonnay, Carricante, Albanello, cultivated by spalliera (modified alberello with 8300 vines per hectare).

Fermentation and Aging: Grapes harvested in the second half of September fermented into white wine in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. The wine ages for 8 months in stainless steel tanks.

Notes: Pale yellow in color. This is a rich, big, fruity wine with undertones of mature apple and pineapple. It's dry, harmonious, pleasantly tart, with finish of almond.

Vintage: 2010, 2011
