Pinot Grigio

gran sasso pinot grigio back art.JPGWinery: Gran Sasso
Region:
Abruzzo
Locale:
Roseto degli Abruzzi (Roseto), Italy
Appellation: Terre Aprutini
Designation: IGP

In a few words: Summer in a glass!

Site: Grapes are grown south of Roseto near Ortona, in well-ventilated, high-altitude vineyards.

Grapes: 100% Pinot Grigio

Fermentation and Aging: Stainless steel.

Notes: Pinot Grigio is a relatively new project for the winery, the first vintage being 2008. We've been amazed by the quality achieved in a region not known for producing distinctive Pinot Grigio. That the wines are vinified by Marco Flacco - one of the top winemakers for white wines in Italy - helps explain their excellence. Rich in fruit yet balanced with good acidity and long racy finish. Round, ripe apple and pear fruits on the palate. Clean and bright, try with grilled fish or light antipasti.
