Our Current Offerings from Cantine Graci - Contrada Arcurìa, Passopisciaro - Sicilia, Italy
Etna Rosso DOC
Site: Contrade (vineyards) from the north slope of Mt. Etna; grown from Alberello (bush trained vines) near 600 meters. From old (ungrafted) vines from the Passopisciaro and Arcuria contrade. Grapes: 100% Nerello Mascalese. Vinification: Fermented in stainless steel. Twelve day maceration. Elevage: twelve months in tank where spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurs. Aged in bottle for four to six months prior to market release. Other: Nerello Mascalese in it’s purist form. Full of minerality and ripe fruit with the elegance and complexity of great Burgundy but at the same time wild and undeniably Sicilian! These are the reasons this appellation has been one of the hottest in Europe among wine cognoscenti.

Etna Rosso Quota 600 DOC
Site: Contrade from the north slope of Mt. Etna; grown from Alberello (bush trained vines) at between 600 and 1,000 meters. From old (many ungrafted) vines from the Passopisciaro and Arcuria contrade. Grapes: Nerello Mascalese. Vinification: Fermented in vertical oak tini with a twelve day maceration. Elevage: Fourteen months in tini made by master Austrian cooper; Stockinger. Then in bottle for another twelve months prior to market release. Other: “Quota” signifies in Italian “altitude”, or “height” - therefore the grapes from Quota 600 come from vineyards at a minimum of 600 meters in altitude. Incredible depth and richness. One of the great Etnean wines being made today. Volcanic soil, berry, wild herbs, a wine displaying true terra and the nobility of the once famous Etna Rosso.
