Winery: Bodegas Primitivo Quiles
Site: High average temperatures, scarce rainfall, plenty of sunlight; soils are limestone with exceptional mineral content.
Grapes: 100% Monastrell
Fermentation and Aging: Cono 4 is named for the winery’s “cono number 4” – the oak container where traditionally the “blend” of the best young Monastrell wine was made at the winery. Aged 10 to 12 months in old oak.
Notes: Lingering aroma with bold hints of woody fruit and soft tannins that lend this grape the elegance it is known for. Full-bodied, nicely acidic and fruity in the mouth, rounded and full of character. The perfect accompaniment for roasts, game, egg and rice-based dishes and cheese.
