 Site: Loamy clay, farmed using “agricultura integrata” – as naturally as possible. East and west exposure – midday sun.

Grapes: 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, estate vineyard, 3.5 hectares, about 200m in altitude, vine age 18 years, tendone trained to guyot, buds trimmed to 7 per vine, and harvested quite late in order to pick fully ripened grapes.

Fermentation and Aging: Soft pressing, long (25 days) maceration, temperature controlled fermentation. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo spends 12 months aging in 5000L French oak botti.

Notes: “San Michele” is the old name of their farm. Production is about 30,000 bottles.
