Bourgogne Rouge

PIllot_Bourgogne_Rouge_label.jpgWinery: Domaine F&L Pillot
Region:
Bourgogne (Burgundy)
Locale:
Chassagne-Montrachet, France
Appellation:  Bourgogne Rouge
Designation: AOC

Site: Four inherited parcels of vines, situated in the commune of Pommard, historically named "Maison Dieu."

Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir

Fermentation and Aging: The grapes are hand-picked, transported to our winery, destemmed and put into the tank. After a few days of cold maceration, the alcoholic fermentation is traditionally started with regular cap punching, thus enabling very small temperature regulations of the fermenting grapes. It is then aged in French oak barrels. It is bottled after aging for 10 months.

Notes: The mixture of old and young vines creates a freshness and elegance to this wine. Drink it young to appreciate its fruity aromas. Pairs great with white meat and BBQ pork.

Vintage: 2011
