Michael "Mac" McCormick's background is in the music industry where he made his living performing and then working as a manufacturers' representative for 40 years.

His passion for wine started several years ago and like anything else he's into, he dove in head first. In his own words:

"In my youth food paring was soup and sandwich. I noticed that after taking a spoon full of soup broth you wanted more sandwich and after biting into that sandwich you wanted more soup broth. They played off each other in a way that I could not, at the time, explain. This later grew into my passion for paring wine with food; the ultimate of that which I felt in my youth.

Now I live for the experience that wine provides as a vehicle to understanding the cuisine, culture, and land elements of a given region of our planet. Wine tells so much about 'place' and I find it adds so much to the dining experience that I feel a certain void without it. The paring of food and wine is now my soup and sandwich."

Mac currently lives in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota with his wife, Joan and his two Bichons, Benson and Bella.
